Nursing Services & Eduction

Introduction:

In the beginning it was a school of nursing which was established in the year 1948 where Auxilary Nurse midwife (ANM) course was conducted.
In the year 1951 the ANM course was upgraded to General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM). GNM was further upgraded in Basic B.Sc. Nursing in the year 2006. College of Nursing ,GMC, Nagpur is running the course of B.B.Sc. Nursing since 2006 with an intake capacity of 50 Students per year.Total 16 batches passed out with 100 % result. Since 2021 B.Sc. Nursing course is going on has semester pattern.
In the year 2011 our college has received permission from Govt. of Maharashtra, MUHS as well as Indian Nursing Council to start M.Sc. Nursing with an intake capacity of 25 Students per year i.e. (Medical surgical Nursing-05, Child Health Nursing-05, Obstetric & Gynecology Nursing-05, Community Health Nursing-05, Mental Health Nursing-05). From 2021 M.Sc.Nursing course started with 25 intake capacity 2 batches passed out with 100% result. One of B.B.Sc. Nursing students awarded with Gold Medal from MUHS, Nashik in 2013. One of the M.Sc.Nursing students of Community Health Nursing department was awarded as MUHS Topper in Summer & Winter 2023.
Some students are awarded with Gold Medal in Sports & also received best player award. Outstanding performance given in Sports at MUHS level.
NSS activities runned by college in fullpledge, Students taking TNAI life membership from SNA to TNAI in final year & SNA activities also conducted.
Our students are involved in patient care in the hospital & through Urban health training centre(UHTC), Rural health training centre (RHTC), organizing workshops for health care workers & co-curricular activities. Planning, implementation & evaluation of many national programs.
Research Methodology Workshop for M.Sc. Nursing students & teachers since 2021.Nursing Education workshop conducted by M.Sc. Nursing students every year.
