Introduction:

The Department of Preventive and social medicine was started since inception of Government medical college, Nagpur. Each year Department of Community Medicine trains 200-800 undergraduate (UG) students and about nine postgraduate (PG) students. Along with UG and PG teaching, the department is also involved in patient care through rural health training centre (RHTC), urban health training centre (UHTC), anti-rabies vaccine (ARV) clinics, immunization clinics, wellness clinic, training of medical teachers for research methodology, teaching technology and planning, implementation and evaluation of many national programs.
